ExG Sensor

The ExG Sensor can measure 1 or 2 channels of bipolar ExG for measuring EEG for brain activity, sEMG for muscle tension, ECG for heart rate or EOG for eye movement. The ExG Sensor is provided with easy snap-on connectors for using various types of electrodes. NeXus sensors are supplied with shielded cables and brushed aluminium medical grade ODU connectors. This reduces noise and artefacts through movement. Measuring electrophysiological signals always requires aground.

The unique EXG Sensor delivers two channels for each electrophysiological modality and can be used for various biofeedback and neurofeedback applications such as chronic tension headaches, stress management, and ADHD/ADD.

Electrical activity is measured in microvolts. Working with the electrophysiological signal at the microvolt level means that signal quality is a key factor, so great care must be taken in reducing artefacts (noise) and rejection. The NeXus EXG Sensor uses proprietary carbon technology combined with active noise cancellation technology. Instead of "hiding" noise and artefacts with the classic filter approach, it simply measures the external noise and substracts it, resulting in cleaner signals and fewer artefacts.

The ExG Sensor for NeXus offers:

  • 1 or 2 channels of bipolar EEG, EMG, ECG or EOG
  • Combine 2 sensors for measuring up to 4 channels of EEG or EMG
  • Snap-on or DIN touch-proof leads for various types of electrodes
  • Shielded cables for a minimum of noise and movement-artifacts
  • Available in lengths up to 3 meters
